Luggage on a pointy

Hi all just after peoples advice and opinions on carry stuff on my pointy. Did have the top box and pillion seat adapter, which was great but now as my missus spends a lot of time on the bike it cant be used. So i need to be able to carry stuff whilst still taking a pillion. So far i have tried soft panniers but these didnt fit great and think it would be uncomfortable for her on the back.
At the moment the ventura system seems to be taking my fancy, any1 have any experience of this on the sv?
What other options are there as to racks, topboxes etc?
thanks

How far are you going?

I do weekends away with a tankbag and rucksack, no luxury but everything you need is in there...

Mainly long weekends and the odd longer trip round europe.
Was gonna get a tankbag and some sort of tailpack/topbox
Did consider 1 of those great big camping backpacks but thought she may find this uncomfortable after a while
Need something fairly big as need to carry at least a pair of shoes each and a few clothes and toiletries

I reckon for two up you'll be looking at panniers tbh

Or you could leave the missus at home?

Just a thought...

Which soft panniers did you use?

I did two-up to Aberdeen with the Oxford Humpback panniers and tank-bag

We did AR05 with a similar setup. Everything seemed to fit fine - and the other half had no problems even though she has short legs.

Tried a set of the oxford panniers, i still have them at home so may have another try with them tonight, did you put the straps over or under the pillion seat?
As mine seem to foul on the indicators, i have a tail tidy with the standard indicators fitted

If you're not getting on with soft panniers, have you considered some sort of rack (eg swmotech one) that'll stick out behind her, that you can fix the top box to?

I've got Oxford Sports panniers, and a Baglux tank cover with tank bag. These worked really well. Although red panniers with a blue bike? Not the best look.

Baglux system is great as you get a choice of different bags and a cover to protect the paint on your tank.
