ECU codes

Hey

got an ECU to limit my 2003 sv650s but I'm not sure it's the right one.
Does anyone know the right codes?
I s'pose I could just plug it in and try it but I'm afraid it may blow up or something!!

codes

F8T95771
MGT060
4326

some say the sv and svs have different codes, can this be right?

Cheers in advance

Chris

Please do everyone a favour & avoid spamming your question across multiple sections of the forum.

Are these "codes" displayed on a sticker, or output from some form of diagnostic equipment?

Baph,

terribly sorry for my outrageous behaviour in "Spammming" this precious site.
If anyone can see it in their heart to forgive me, the 'codes' that I refered to are the numbers printed on the ECU
If you look on an ECU it's obvios what I mean

Chris, I apologise, but it's simply etiquette, and it's common to many sites.

As for the comment "it's obvious if you look on an ECU" - firstly, it's clearly not or you wouldn't be asking. Secondly, if you look in Google, it's clearly a 2005 CDI.

From looking on the parts fische, the model number for the 03 ECU is 32920-17G20. The model number for the 05 ECU is 32920-17G40.

Therefore, on first glance, you have the incorrect part. However, a further look shows that 32920-17G20 is also the model number for the 05 model's released in US/Canada.

So on balance, nothing will blow up if you choose to plug it in. But there will be some minor differences.

Re: ECU codes

Looks like you have a standard ECU mate.
  • Code for a standard ECU is - MGT060
  • Code for Restricted ECU (33BHP) is - MGT061
Hope this helps.
