Standard Exhaust "adjustment"
Has anyone done anything interesting with the standard end can? Apart from removing it
Like removing the guts and chopping it in half to get a really wide stubby? Just wondering what is possible |

Re: Standard Exhaust "adjustment"
Not done anything myself, but it's 'Mufflerectomy' that you're looking at. Google it, and you'll find loads of post, see link below. It's literally cutting the welded baffle out. IIRC, the standard exhaust is welded, and therefore not really suitable for stubbying, but if you have a welder handy, then it's very possible. IMO, a stubbied rocket launcher would look well fugly.

Re: Standard Exhaust "adjustment"
I've been looking at this for a while now, to the extent that I hava a spare standard can in the garage waiting to start. I've been pointed in the direction of sv rider by someone on here, not had a look yet so if you find anything let me know.

Re: Standard Exhaust "adjustment"
yeah, but that does not stubby the can. I'm looking at buffing down the end section, removing internals, shortening the can by about 9 inches, modifying baffle to bolt in place, rewelding the end cover back on. Only problem i have is the exhaust i have as a spare has had the lambda sensor chopped out so ill probably have to chop the existing exhaust off and get a link pipe to suit.

Re: Standard Exhaust "adjustment"
Stubby as you would any other can, but instead of re-riveting, just weld.
That's an awful lot of work for something that's gonna look fugly 8-[ |

Re: Standard Exhaust "adjustment"
I tried it and give up, really easy to do if you have a welder, there was a guy on CF that had a stubbied original can.

Re: Standard Exhaust "adjustment"
try PM'ing Clanger as she has a rather smart "stubbied" original, sounds good to.
