Bike wouldnt start
 
just had to go out on me bike, turned ignition on, tried to start and nothing.
checked cut out switch, put stand up and down again still nothing. put the steering lock on and off couple of times then it started.

Got to where i was goin and same again.

is there any defective safety switches on theses SV 650S ??

Clutch sensor, side stand switch, for a start!

Yep, the clutch sensor is just below the clutch leaver and can come loose or get dirty. If its causing problems then you can bypass it, but its not recommended as you could start the bike in gear.

think i will just take it into the dealers then.

Clutch switch, wires going to the clutch lever clean up the contacts and short with a paperclip. anything?

Do any of the lights come on or is it totally dead like you haven't even turned the ignition on? If no lights then suspect the dreaded green connector where the ignition switch plugs into the main loom under the airbox.

It takes about 2 seconds to look at mate, it should be in your owners manual.

will take a look after work. hopefully the plug might just need pushing together.
