Scorpion exhaust baffle.

Either I'm being a tube or I'm missing something.

It was recommended to me to remove the baffle on my Scorpion exhaust. I've removed the bolt which appears to be holding it in place. On trying to remove it however, it wouldn't budge and appears to be secured by something else. I've had a good look around and can't see anything else holding it in place. Am I being a nob and missing something or is the baffle stuck?

Any help, abuse etc would be greatly appreciated.

They can be a bit tight. I've got a pair on my SV1000 and one pulled out easily by hand, the other needed a bit of force using a pair of pliers on the end of the baffle. It shouldn't need loads of force to come out. Just a little twisting sideways and pulling out at the same time.
Unless they've changed the design, which I doubt. You should have just the one M6 (I think) bolt holding it in.

Thanks Jonzrx and BournemouthBen!
Appears I wasn't being "hard enough". After a bit of gentle tickling (heave with some pliers and a few words I won't mention) the baffle is now out. Hope none of my neighbours saw me fall flat on my @rse when it came free!!!

Jesus, what a change! Sounds like a different bike! Thanks Chris, for the recomendation!!!

And thanks again guys for your advice!

i have the same can as you, does it affect performace at all, i have heard that it can affect it a fair bit a low end power, didnt really notice that much when i went for a ride the other day but, something about back pressure in the can, Would be interested to know for sure????

To be fair, J2UK, I haven't taken it out for a proper ride yet so I couldn't say if there is any performance differance. Saying that, looking at the baffle when removed, it's very obvious that it restricts the exhaust gases. I can't imagine I'll notice any major change, though maybe a dyno run could show a few more ponies.

Good plan, Dave! That won't be going back in!!!

I have seen somebody remove a baffle by starting the bike up and banging it off the limiter. It worked, but I would not recommend it!
