Mclaren Mercedes SLR

I found this last night in Manchester. I belings to a footballist and is mirror polished. I had a quick check on Autotrader, these cars go for anything up to £340,000 in standard paint colours. Who knows how much it cost to get it polished.
Very nice car, no doubt, but is it just a bit too much bling? Should footballists be paid so much?

Should ANY "celeb" get paid more than people who actually make a difference to society - ie Police, Firemen, Nurses, The Armed Forces.

I find it hard to say anything but NO to that question, as all they REALLY contribute it to give unrealistic impressions and goals to the young people that idolise them.

sexy looking car. must have cost mega ££££££

Footballers get paid far to much.

if all footballers gave up 1 weeks wage there would be no poverty

I dislike football more than I can describe.

but the car is fairly well known on pistonheads and is actually a body wrap rather than a bar metal polish :cool: I think its pretty cool

I think I saw that in a lads mag the other week, some over paid football player
Wiliam Gallas

Some footballer's, at the height of their game, at the height of the sport, command a very high salary.

The thing is they have a very short shelf life too, and are unqualified to do anything else. They have a very short period of time to save enough money to last them a lifetime if needed, else they end up on an episode of "where are they now?"

I still find the sums paid to some staggering, but that's just my frame of reference.

I agree about dislike of football, I think it's a Brazilian waiting for the ball for a corner needs to take some brave pills, it's about 40 seconds into this vid;

which just says it all for me. What a bunch of namby pamby............grrrr, I can't even think of a word to describe my derision of them all.

And, having thought about it, I did see some odd wrinkles in the finish on the car, and I doubt the bumpers are metal either!

Jambo my answer to that would be they should go out & look for a job like the rest of us.

fair play to getting paid to kick a ball about but not that much
