Use of Redex in fuel on bikes
Is it OK to use Redex in the fuel on bikes. The container says it helps carbon deposit build up, fuel economy etc. I have heard it should not be used.
Thoughts anyone? |

Well I have used it before and its been fine... you don't need as much as the Curvy SV tank is only 16 Litres

I've uised it on carb'd bikes before. May aswell just use super unleaded though.

Yeah it's old hat technology, the stuff you get already dosed in at Tescos is better. Unless it's still the 70's and you're into decokes.

Used it on the DT quite often. Never had any problems.
I've used in on the SV. Never had any problems. |
Re: Use of Redex in fuel on bikes
Use it in my SV - seems to give another 15-20 miles per tank. Not tried it on super so can't give a comparison.
Didn't do anything for the NTV or GSX550 tho (didn't break anything either, mind you) |

Re: Use of Redex in fuel on bikes
I did lots of tests in regards to Fuel with Super and normal unleaded in my blog with lots of dull results find that it make no difference....
Remember if you put super unleaded in the only bike that will notice is the BMW K12 think, none of the other bikes have a knock sensor. Does seem to help with carb icing, and does seem to help clean the engine a little, but nothing that I could be 100% sure about. |
