Blown engine @ 120mph :(
 

Hi All,

I blew my engine on monday on the way into work. I was doing top speed and it just popped and puffed smoke. Got over on the side of the motorway and noticed holes in the front, back, and even in the middle of the V. According to my research its the crank bearings are the most likely candidate for this failure. Only changed the oil the previous week and even checked the oil just before setting off :mad:


Does anyone know where i can find a new engine for a k3 pointy? Meant to be going for a ride out to France next week, so need a replacement asap. Spoke with a company called Pro Salvage, but they wanted over £700 for a new one delivered!!! RAPE!

Surely the engine cant be worth the 550+ people are asking on ebay???

Any help would be greatly appreciated. [-o<

Probably a snapped conrod.

You should be able to get one for £300

Any idea as to where i can find one? I've been watching ebay, tried many salvage yards but they either dont have any or they want 500+ for em :(

eBay or on here.

Just tell breaker you will pay 300 and no more because that's what they go for, you will find one to accept.

If you can't fit it yourself I'm guessing it's sell the old bike for breaking time....

I'll do all the work myself so its not too bad. Dont particularly want to rebuild though, although it would be nice to build it up and ensure its all done properly, but i dont have the time.

I'll try being a bit harder with the salvage guys.
