Snapped lower yoke bolt.

Just fidlin with the front forks & snapped a bottom yolk clamp bolt clean off:smt089

I felt some resistance so soaked in penitrating oil and tried to tease said bolt out. No joy

Just off to the garage now to try to repair it, may have to take bottom yolk out to machine the remainer out

Bugger!

Take other side off, I think thread is all the way through. If so you should be able to get a drill in it and if it grabs it should wind the remainder through.

Blind hole so need to go from the front
I have been meaning to buy some lefthanded drill bits for just this job, but never get round to it

Halfords (shiver) sell a nice set of screw extractors... just drill a bit of a hole into the sheared bolt and then use these and it'll pop right out, guaranteed!*

*this is not a guarantee

Re: Snapped bolt!!

Lol, only thing guaranteed is that the screw extractor is lots harder than drillbits. You will find this out when one snaps.

Lots of hammering seems to make these work. If not drill + re-tap hole out is easiest option but make sure you drill + tap square unlike this thick idiot.

Same problem.

Get a little micro gas torch, lots of penetrating oil, a set of left-hand drills and a tap and die set.

Yolk - found in eggs.

Yoke - found holding the forks onto the frame of your bike, or across the shoulders of a horse or ox or similar.
