2002 SV650 rattles after refuelling.
 

As the title suggests, my 2002 SV650S doesn't seem to run too smoothly just after filling up. It sorts itself out fairly soon afterwards, but sounds pretty unhealthy for the first minute or two.

Its probably a stupid question and I'm missing something, but if anyone could explain whats going on that would be sweet.

How old are your spark plugs and when did you last change them ?
Do you have a Fuel filter and if so , when was the last time you checked that ?
Does the bike behave ok from a cold start with choke or no choke dependant on Temperature ?
What is your Idle speed when the bike is warmed up with no choke ?

Just a few things to help clarify the situation :)

And is it as bad if you were to just stop and turn it off for the same amount of time without adding fuel.

Erm. I've only had the bike about 3 weeks in fairness, so I'm not too sure on when the fuel filter/spark plugs were last changed. It idles at about 1400 rpm, and starts absolutely perfectly every time and sounds fine on cold starts.

Also, it doesn't sound bad if i leave it stopped for that amount of time without refuelling :)

Idle speed is spot on by the sounds of it , just to settle your mind I would whip them plugs out and whack a new set in just for peace of mind , and we are here to help :)
