rider to pillion intercom
 

Ok. I know this should be inancillaries I suppose but.

Need comments. reccomedations on a good intercom.. rider to pillion..

need clear as a bell..

no wires -

no wind noise etc.


done search on here and see autocomm and star comm and blue ant come up trumps.. but which>? version, number . model.?


do i need to connect something permanent to the battery with these> and sit it under the seat> do they have nice neat bluetooth "thingys" that sit on the helmet and comfy earphones..

tis all confusing..

seen Soulkiss comment and Garry in Scoootland- indepenti wotsit.. and a few others but nothing upto date lately


have tried cheaper £20 stuff before and got wind noise- no ability to hear over 50 mph.. and painfull ear plugs..


I kow it an investment and want it for the scotland trip so dont mind spending £100.£150 cos tis forever I suppose..

Dunno about wireless doo-hahs quiff, but Starcom and Autocom have been sticking with wires for good reason - they work!

I have an Autocom system I got second hand for £80 odd and it really works well, crystal clear duplex (both can talk at same time) between rider and pillion. I don't find the wires a problem.

I just need to train Mand I Suppose.. she gets off at petrol stations and walks off without disconnecting the wires..

I looked up autocom and the F1 use them and pilots etc.. so look good, blue ant do a wiresless one I heard and been trying to look it up.


does it connect to yer battery then and have a 2 plug ins?? nothing clipping on a belt working off aa batteries?? somethin perm onthe bike would be fab and that duplex thing sounds good and the no wind noise.. Scotland long way with pillion and no chat.

scaler rider Q2, you get 2 head sets that clip to helmets flat earpieces and its bluetooth you just charge a little bit of it from mains.

I'll +1 that.

My Dad and I have used them BETWEEN bikes before and they work an absolute treat.

They pick up the radio, play iPods, Bluetooth to phone and TomTom Rider II.

Great kit.

looks like them are 149 for one unit!!



I like the autocom cos I think it hard wires for power doesnt it>?? and its proven.. but any others I will look at.

Autocom 200, gives you the option to hard wire or run from 9v battery (pp3) nothing bad to say about it, yes its wired, but does exactly what it says on the tin, was half price most places as they are moving to digital or try ebay

autocom active duo (or its current equivalent) would be a good bet. can be hard wired into the loom or you can use a 9v battery. Can be expanded for mp3, phone, gps and bike to bike

Can thoroughly reccomend www.chainspeed.co.uk if you do decide to go for it.

you can also get a two part power lead so you can detach it from the bike.
