The missus has gone loco!!!
She's seeing a shrink!
Only found out last night, and apparently I have nothing to do with it!:smt118 I was kind of wondering why she was getting home later than normal on her 8-2 shift, and now I know. No joke people, i'm really stunned! Well if it helps her out and she feels better in the long run, good. I don't know what else to write now, mind is firing off loads of things.:( Seriously confused. Ste |

Have you asked her why she feels the need to go? |
Re: The missus has gone loco!!!
About the only thing that will put your mind at rest mate is talking to her.
But that's going to take time. Everything will sort itself out eventually mate. :) |

Re: The missus has gone loco!!!
don't sweat it mate, i bet plenty of people you know are or have had psych treatment, but don't tell anyone because of the stigma associated
be there to listen if she wants to talk but don't make a big issue of it hope she gets better soon:cool: |
Re: The missus has gone loco!!!
I've seen a shrink...theres no shame in it. It will no doubt become clear in time.
Blokes, never see whats going on #rolls eyes in female manner# when its front of their faces. seriously, when your seriously stressed seeing a 'counsellor' makes things a whole lot easier to cope with. Oh and don't make fun of her, in jokey manner, you'll probably end up getting a slap! |
Re: The missus has gone loco!!!
Post on an internet forum that she must be mad, that'll help...
I'm only partly pulling your leg. We've all got our own issues. Some people are better able than others to sort themselves out. In the fast-paced relatively uncaring society some people feel that they're in, a "shrink" does something very few other people will: They sit down and listen to you entirely. They try not to judge you. They have no bias, or axe to grind. They are impartial to the situations you are in. And then they offer good, common sense advice on how to help you feel better and deal with things more easily. Because this advice comes from outside of your group of friends and work colleagues, it's easier to take it on-board. Chill out, give her a hug, and above all do not attempt to pry out of her what's going on in these sessions. It's none of your business until she decides to share it with you. Which I'd imagine she will when she feels more comfortable about it. There's still a real stigma about seeing a councillor or a shrink, there shouldn't be. But it can make people nervous about discussing it, which is a shame. Jambo |
Re: The missus has gone loco!!!
I expect there's absolutely nothing wrong with her whatsoever, she might just find it easier to talk out her problems/issues with a complete stranger. It does help sometimes. I never understand why people always associate "shrink" with madness, it couldn't be further from the truth in some respects.

Re: The missus has gone loco!!!
I don't mind her going, it's just a shock to find out that she feels she needs to.
I shall be patient and wait for her to tell me what she wants me to know. Cannot believe i'm living with a crazy woman, thought I was the crazy one ;-) Guess I will have have to rethink who is going to be the crazy one from now on! Ste |
