Rear brake master cylinder & bracket issues

A friend of mine has recently had a bit of a prang (which was well publicised on here). Many hours have been spent in his garage getting it back to a roadworthy condition, however we are having a bit of an issue getting the new rear brake master cylinder to sit right. When we hook it up to the brake pedal and bolt it on, the rod seems to be angled too far forward to allow it to travel all the way up into the cylinder. He seems convinced that the bracket which connects the cylinder to the frame is not bent, I'm not so sure.

Anyone got any ideas?

Get someone with the appropriate model to send you a photo of theirs.

Pointy or curvy???

It's a 1999 Curvy. If it makes any difference, it is a US spec.

A pic may help if you can get one posted.

don't worry people I think we figured it. it's my bike that's the issue here (there are pics of said prang knocking about on here). looks like the M/C bracket is twisted (not bent). cheese was kind of right but should have concentrated a bit more in physics lessons!

Umm, true. But your lack of concentration during motorcycle handling lessons has improved my physics/spanner skills no end! ;)
