Fuel pump - strange noises
Hi all, i've noticed a couple of times on my bike when turning on the ignition that instead of the usual high pitched whir, the fuel pump makes a lower pitch grunt.
Its hard to explain, but it is not too loud and doesn't sound like something is crunching, but is loud enough to notice the difference - almost as if it is running dry (even when the fuel tank is full) It is intermitent, and after turning the ignition off and back on it will return to normal. Is this a sign of it on its way out? Bike is a K5 with 23k miles |
Re: Fuel pump - strange noises
Maybe your battery is loosing power? When you turn it on the difference in noise might be due to a tired battery?
It's most likely ok and this is just a suggestion matey. |
Re: Fuel pump - strange noises
If Im right, you wont be able to start the bike when this happens? You will might also get a FI error (if yours is a pointy?)
this could be one of any amount of things, my bike had the same problem. search for C-42 fault. |
