I thought it was the video, but currently watching the TV - "Control" is coming down the wires from my dish on the roof . Anyway, theres this whispering like interference , we get it all the time , now why would that be ? Come on boffins , explain !;)

PS Joy Div fans , would you beleive me if i said i was at the gig when he has a fit and collapses on the drum kit ?

What's the system? there are numerous things that can cause that. My guess would be it's down to the amplifier if it's a multi room system.

Radio stuff can be a nightmare to track down the problems.

By whispering you mean that you are getting interference on the audio but you are not getting any picture breakup? As it is happening on the video as well it is most likely to be a cable problem as a lot of cheap SCART cables aren't that well shielded on the audio side, and the cable can act as an antenna.

Another possibility is that the TV doesn't have much rejection between the inputs, so some of the audio from the other input is bleeding through. Unplug everything other than what you are watching and see if it still does it.

There are loads of other things that you can try, but these would be the first things I'd look at.

MT (by no means an RF boffin)

Pete, its nothing to worry about mate, not until the whispers start following you out the house and saying "go kill prince Philip" that is :)

my guitar used to pick up a polish? radio station very clearly. Couldn't understand a word. And they never seemed to play any music

I've got an old organ that plays the radio, and you change frequencies using the keys. I hasten to add this only happened after coffee was spilt on it!

Try the solutions above first.

I'd also put an oscilloscope on the cables one by one, and to quote another user recently, "everyone has that laying around in the shed, right?"

That wasn't Polish radio, it was KGB messages you were intercepting by mistak, hence no music. ;)

Pete, you may need an areil in your car....or get rid of the green fuzzy seat covers, lol.
