Burning films to CD
I don't understand this. I have a video clip which is 701MB. There is 702MB free on the cdrw. But when I try to burn it to disc it says
Space needed to burn: 736MB Free space on disc: 702MB What's going on? |
Re: Burning films to CD
Hmm.. odd... :o
It's probably 700mb because it was formatted or something.. looks like you'll need a DVD! Or you can just open Windows Movie Maker...put it in... save the movie file as... and it'll probably shrink to half the size. :P |

Try converting the movie to Xvid the software is free, http://www.xvid.org/Xvid-Video.3.0.html Shouldnt change the quality, just a smaller file format. Hope this helps  |
Re: Burning films to CD
You could shink it using a program like, any cd/dvd, it would shrink it to fit the cd then burn it so it still plays in a standard dvd player. It reduces the compression rate but not so you would notice if you only have to lose 30 mb.

I could shrink the file size but I don't see why I should have to. I specifically got this file because it was smaller than the discs maximum 702MB. So why is windows adding on an extra 30MB just because I'm changing where the file is stored |
Re: Burning films to CD
Just tried to put some films on to a dvd and it started making funny noises then spat the dvd back out
"There was an error burning the disc. The disc might no longer be useable" GREAT!! Thanks a lot windows grrrrrrr |
Re: Burning films to CD
Alternatively, you could just go out and buy the DVD instead of poncing it off the internet :)
