Shimming clip ons
I got a set of SV1000 clip ons to try on my K3 GSXR 600 forks and they don't fit they are 1mm too big (in diameter)
Anyone aware of shims or spacers available to make these fit? They would be a perfect rise etc so i would love to use them. |
Re: Shimming clip ons
what's the diameter of the gsxr tubes?

Re: Shimming clip ons
I suppose a lipped split incert could do it (but you'd need four to be machined for you, much cheaper to sell thoughs and get ones that actually fit), but I wouldn't, the bars take a fair amount of force and I'd want to be sure they were sound.

Some cans cut to size? Beware this is the Botch option.

Re: Shimming clip ons
You can get shims for bicycle seat posts that may do what you want. Not sure if they go up to that sort of diameter though.

My latest purchase has a 32.4mm seatpost |
Re: Shimming clip ons
it can be done but you may need to source a company to do it for you, the harris clipons i used to have on my gsxr1000 k1 had shims because of the stepped fork legs
