Speeding Ticket Issue

Got a warning of prosecution letter the other day. I am guilty of doing 38 in a 30. :( It's my own stupid fault.

Anyway, as i'm aware i think i get three points and a sixty pound fine. Yes?

However i have had my license less than two years and am only allowed six points i believe. Is it the case that if i get six points my license is revoked or is it over six points. I.e. three sets of three points.

Hope my query makes sense??? Haven't been able to find links anywhere else as of yet...

Can you not go on a speed awareness course or were you to far over the limit ,or are they not availiable in you area.

Is your bike licence your FIRST / only licence ?

Good point, my mate got caught doing a ridiculous speed in a 30 and he argued the toss and managed to come out of it with his license just about in tact and a few grand fine.

I know someone who was caught at 45 in a 30 on saturday and he got a £60 fine... so I'm guessing that he only got 3 points with the offence to match? someone'll know which speeds warrant how many points.

It will depend on the area you were ticketed in. Some will offer the speed awareness course, some won't. At that speed in M'cr, you would get the offer.
You will have your licence revoked if you collect six points in the first two years.

As JW says Manc chester would give you speed awareness, I know Lancs fine and points at 36 never mind 38, a consistent policy would not go amiss.

As for the 6 point rule, it only applies to the first two years of your first licence, so if you passed your car test 3 years ago you would be in the clear.

But what happens if you have passed both your bike and car within the last 2 years and collect 6, do you revert back to learner status on both entitlements?.

Still an old friend took his driving test on his 17th birthday and passed. went out that night to celebrate and lost his licence for a year, must be the record for the shortest held licence.
