Bike wont start
Hiya
After my bike fell off its stand last week it has been waiting patiently in my garage until i got all the bits I needed to fix it. After getting my gear change lever today I thought I'd take her for a little spin but when I tried to start her up.........nothing Now I know the battery is ok cos its been on a trickle charge When I press the starter button the word "CHEC" comes up on the dashboard. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks Neil |
Re: Bike wont start
first thing i'd do is wiggle the kill switch a few times - i know of a few bikes on here, including mine, that suffer from this occasionally. Otherwise you'll need to put it in dealer mode to find the fault code.

Re: Bike wont start
1) In Gear
2) Kill Switch 3) Clutch switch/ side stand switch 4) Tilt Switch All I can think of for now.... |
Re: Bike wont start
Kill switch lol, gets me everytime!
c'mon ya ****, start! start! c'mon ya ****... oh 5hit kill switch Dman it |
Re: Bike wont start
Right the kill switch got rid of the "CHEC" on the dashboard D'Oh
But the bike still dont start!!! Its definately not in gear Kill switch seems to be working ok Clutch is in What is the tilt switch??? |
Re: Bike wont start
Check the clutch lever switch.. if it's been down on it's left hand side, it may have moved slightly, or be broken maybe....

Re: Bike wont start
try pushing the wires on the clutch switch m8, should work.
had similar problem meself. |
Re: Bike wont start
Plus one - would check wiring on clutch 1st... then side stand.
Tilt switch stops the engine if the bike is dropped (& that's the extent of my knowledge!) but unless it's moved somehow it should be fine. |
Re: Bike wont start
Nothin'
Have wiggled wires on clutch / sidestand / killswitch / taken clutch lever off and put it back on again Everything lights up as it should.....just doesn't turn over HELP!!! |
Re: Bike wont start
After checking all those i'd say fuses next, just in case the drop damaged or dislodged one a bit?
