What's with all these silly adverts on Youtube?

like on the main youtube page now it's Assasins Creed 2 or something, and nearly every god damned video that's from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and some other very popular users have some silly advert, normally for Call of Duty 6 (Modern Warfare 2) or some random movie.. thus adding another 20seconds to every video I want to watch, and if I were on a download limit it'd screw me up even further!

i dont recall signing up to have to watch MORE commercials! yet they take my non profit and simply for fun video down because it had a 30 second sample of a breaking benjamin track in it, who are of course run my the oh so friendly folk over at WMG.....

Funny that with all the money Youtube are making they still can't get it so us UK users can watch most international music videos!

rant over. grumpy me signing off.

Well for the privilege of watching programmes without having to pay a tv licence I can put up with the odd advert :-P

Were you ever on that show, Grumpy Old Men?

Get over yourself! Here you are watching something for free while youtube are not making money, in fact they are losing a couple of million dollars a day.

Put it into perspective here, you are not entitled to it, they provide a service at no charge to you and if to keep them going you have to watch an ad then so be it.

does anyone else remember the dialogue thing popping up on youtube a while ago?

"Please select your nationality/location: UK.... or.... Rest of the world"

I went back into my profile settings and changed my location to outside the uk and I seem to be able to watch all music videos now.. just a thought :)

Would you rather a government/private contoled one? I'm sure that will do wonders for free speech  Thats the whole point of it. If we didn't have ads then we would lose out on a lot of content.
