K3 no FI code displaying

Hi,

I'm building a 650k3 up from spares for track use. I've got pretty much everything now, but after connecting all the core loom components/connectors i get the usual CHEC appear on the clocks. I've bridged the connector to it force into dealer mode as per in this link http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=73604 but no error codes appear, only the CHEC displays. This obivously makes life a bit hard trying to finish things off. When I disconnect the ECU the same thing happens so it's as if the ECU isn't being recognised. However, i connected the ECU from my raod bike and no difference?

Anyone any ideas??? many thanks! :) Mark

Check the usual "idiot" switches. :)

If you've only wired in critical loom components for racing, you could even be missing the necessary switches.

Clutch/Sidestand (sidestand switch only really applies if the bike is in gear).

Dodgy kill switch connection?

go round shorting out 1 switch at a time if your going to do it and trying it. No cables caught up anywhere?

cool, always wondered why the only errors that dont have a code are the ones that always catch us out....

i know, that's what had me wondering...hence the post... i'd like to say i had a defence against the side stand switch embarrassment, but errr, i don't!!!
