I'm starting to get stressed!
Ibby and I get married in 2 weeks and I still haven't got anything to wear.
In fact I don't even have much of an idea what to wear. My preference would be jeans and a T-shirt, but that wouldn't be the done thing and Ibby's got a lovely dress, so I've got to look the part. Trouble is, I don't really like dressing up and I don't like being the centre of attention. We're doing the legal bit in a registry office and the having a bit of a ceremony on the top of Snowdon. Ibby has told me to wear what I feel comfortable in, but I can't show her up by wearing jeans etc. Dark suits appear too business like and the pale suit I tried on today looked insipid (if that's the right word). I had thought of a fancy silk waistcoat over a smart shirt and tie, together with dark trousers, but I'm unsure of this too. Please, if anyone has any sensible suggestions, then they would be appreciated as it's starting to do my head in. |
Re: I'm starting to get stressed!
Fancy waistcoat, shirt and tie sounds good by me and it you would feel comfortable in them do it.
If the weather on the top of Snowden is anything like today though nobody will be able to see it anyway under the thermals and waterproofs you are going to need!! |

A white shirt, grey waistcoat and a nice tie would sound about right to me! Just remember as long as you turn up she'll be happy, what you wear is just a minor detail, especially as it mightn't stay on long anyway ;-) |
Re: I'm starting to get stressed!
A Nehru suit is the way forward. Smart but not quite as formal as others.
They have a square collar with a shirt to match that can be worn with a cravate or a stud. You can get plain, striped (herringbone or pin) or broquade (embroidered). They look great with a cool waistcoat...to pick up a colour in your OH's dress. Trust me...I am not a Doctor, but I wore one for my wedding. There is a thread on here with some photos in somewhere... |
