Replacing caliper seal set help

Has any one got a guide or can they advise me on how to replace the seal set on my front calipers? The seals have popped out when cleaning them :(

Thanks

Re: Replacing caliper seal set help

Try a search but it's a straight forward job, but needs to be done carefully.
You'll need to remove the calipers from the discs (if not already off), take the pads out and carefully pump the brakes to push the pistons out. Be very careful as fluid is likely to go everywhere on your first attempt. Do one caliper at a time to keep things simple and clean and make sure they come out evenly, you are likely to need a soft faced clamp or wooden block for this. Pull out the pistons and old seals. Give everything a thorough clean and fit new seals. Put a thin covering of brake fluid on the pistons and push them all the way in with the bleed nipple open to allow the air to escape. Refit the pads and refit caliper to the disc. Do the other side and bleed the system.
Best thing to use for cleaning out the seal grooves is a thin piece of wire ( to scrape out the crud) and an old toothbrush, and plenty of brake cleaner. Some people use red rubber grease, your choice. Make sure you take your time with everything, if you are uncertain about anything get some help, you don't want to guess with brakes!
A Haynes manual is a good source of information and pictures for reference.
Hope it goes well.
