Right exhaust for 2009 SV650 Sport
 

Hi guys and girls,

Firstly, Hi to everyone here. This is my first post although ive been reading intently for months and after years of working hard finally treated myself to a new SV650 Sport in Blue!

For me its always been about V-twins and although a Honda SP-1 is the dream bike I think as a first big bike it may be a little bit beyond me at the mo. :rolleyes:

I know that choosing a slip-on is a matter of opinion but im trying to be specific about the noise i want and there are hardly any sv's near me to compare.

I really want a deep, low rumble noise NOT a raspy, tinny, bark. I've played Youtube clips to death but still cant decide and dont want to spend £300ish and be disappointed. I'd really value anyones opinion on which exhausts are more likely to produce the note im after.

So far im tipping towards the M4, Yoshi RS3 or Scorpion street extreme (although even this sounds a bit raspy when revved hard).

Any opinions, personal experiences etc welcome

If you can find a clip have a listen out for these two...

Either Remus or a Blueflame, the Blueflame on my curvey had a nice deep tone like you are after, but the build quality left a little to be desired, whereas the Remus is pretty much there tone wise, not quite as deep but the build quality is far far superior.

Both should fit into your budget just...

Whereabouts are you ? get to a local meet and then you can have a listen for yourself...

+1 on the Beowulf. Was riding alongside an SV650 the other day which had one on - very deep sounding (a bit like a speaker with the mids and tweeters taken out). Street extreme is very nice looking, but expensive and is very raspy, and tinny - not deep at all IMO. I have a stubbied Scorpion, and the Beowulf was deeper than mine on both idle and decel. HTH. I was choosing between LeoVince and Beowulf. Got Beowulf because it was more accessible and cheaper. I don't think Warrior is the quietest out there, even with baffle in, because it's a straight through slip on anyway. LeoVince street model uses some steps in exhaust to keep the noise down.

Anyway Warrior really sounds nice, sounds more deep without baffle, but only at low revs/throttle openings. If you give it some it really barks. So I left the baffle in. And yes rolling off the throttle in tight spaces, tunnels and underground parking lots makes you grin devilishly :smt077

I'd go for a Remus Hexacone. They make a really nice deep, burbley tone as oppose to an offensive, raspy sound

Hello and welcome Mike.
I know what you mean about the v twin, it was indeed a ride on my cousins sp1 that led me to buy the sv (found the sp easy enough to ride and fairly novice at the time, but insurance was crippling)
I like the sound of the m4 system and am often recieving comments on how good it sounds, deep and bassy, but with gentle throttle control I haven't attracted the attention from the boys in blue just yet. Only trouble is they are about £500 for the full system. On the upside I find that it'll rev more in top gear and probably pulls a wee bit better up through the gears.

Compared to some i've heard, the Fuel can is pretty deep - but slightly boomy, not as defined as some. This is without the baffle - its a bit raspy with it in. It's quite burbley either way.

I need to get someone to ride it past me cos i've got no idea what it sounds like in actual use! Sat on the bike isn't a very good perspective, imho.

ive owned a few cans for the SV and the best sound by far was the Blue flame evo (tri oval dual) in titanium

goddam that sounded crumpet even with top baffle in! it really suits the twin sound and the shape really complimented the pointy too
