To all FEMALE orgers..

That doesn't include you guys with the snip ;)

Seriously though, data research post really.

Girlies on this site, how do you like to be known as a biker?? If someone was going to give you a generalisation name, what would you take offence too and what wouldn't you mind...

I.E

Biker chicks
Girl bikers
Female bikers
Lady riders
Girl Riders

etc etc.....

Im after a little market research, just wondering what the collective ladies would prefer to be known as if given a choice.

Any friends you may have who are bikers, if you could maybe text them as ask their opinion, i'd be very gratefull.

Thanks :D :salut:

Re: To all FEMALE orgers..

Well, I don;t find any truly offensive, although, the fact that I haven't been a girl for quite a few years now leads me to mildly dislike being called one.

I think Female Biker would be my choice of a good name if we have to have one. Biker chicks is common but would alientate a lot of female bikers IMHO as I know a few that would hate to be called chicks. I don't have their numbers but will get them off Stretchie later.

So, for me, top choice is "Female Bikers" followed by "Lady Bikers" and don't really care for the rest.

Hope that helps!

Cheryl.

In biking terms, I think gender is irrelevant. We're all "bikers".

But I'm a bloke, so this opinion probably doesn't count.

Obviously I'm not a girl (even though I occasionally get called one!) but I don't think gender should come into it. A biker is a biker.

I'll ask Ibby what she thinks.

Im with Grunty Giggles on this one:

1) "Female Bikers"
2) "Lady Bikers"

The term "chick" is just a bit.. But then I am a pillion and am yet to get my licence so im not quite sure my opinion is valid.

Me too, but not for long and I think that it is irrelevant anyway. We love bikes, we get on them and enjoy them, hence, we are bikers!

Jabba & Madness, I actually do agree with you, but I think Daimo is asking for market research for business purposes like the sales of biking gear for women so is looking for a term that would not be offensive.

If I'm wrong Daimo, please correct me. If this is the case, the other option for you is the one every shop in the land uses and just have mens and womens departments or sections of a website. No need to call anyone any type of biker then!
