Named and Shamed

Huge big massive THANK YOU to Suicidesam. Came over today (on his day off) and performed some form of black art on my less than straight nose fairing bracket.

Think its straighter now than when mr suzuki delivered it. Thanks again mate.

Amazing what a little heat and a big hammer can achiece in the right hands.

Re: Named and Shamed

Pretty much all the bits i need to get her back on the road are either here or somewhere in the mail system. Few other bits and bobs that would be nice but not essential i'll need to source later but no hurry.

She's slowly becoming less of a bike and more of a pile of bits, my plastic welding skills are coming along a treat as is my steep learning curve of all things bike. Also need to replace 2 of the cheese bolts (so far) that i've had to drill and chisel out.

The back wheel is at Saltire for new rubber, I've decided not to respray the nose i got but replace it with a correct colour one when one becomes available, or alternatively respray the entire bike in a couple of years.

Now all i need is some time to get stuck in rather than grabbing 30 mins here and there. I've also decided to use this time to carry out all the mods i'd planned, tail tidy, new horn, hand guards, lower fairings, stubby the oem exhaust (although this may take a little longer) Biggest problem is convincing the oh that repairing the bike is more important than organising the wedding (which is what i seem to spend my life doing)

So next few days, strip everything down, do elecs, clean and polish everything then start rebuilding.

Need to get someone a bit more tecky than me to check my front forks are ok and help me with realigning the rear wheel when i refit it.

Sounds like a big project - that was kind of suicidesam. I'm thinking about a tail tidy, what one do you reckon you will go for? And will you help me fit mine one day;):D:D

Either look up my thread about getting my bike back on the road for a description of how to do it, and apply the same principle using the string and laser to your back wheel, or we'll do it on the Friday night before the massacre. The girls can either chat on their own or they can come and sit in the garage and chat and drink/supply coffee there.

Your an SV nose expert now mate! I have ridden both KG (pre-accident) and Tiger 55's K6 SV's since you did mine, and whilst I thought mine was still a tiny bit squint, both those noses were more squint than mine, so you are getting them straighter than Mr Suzuki ever was in the first place! My headlight alignment passed the first MOT no problem as well. You are a metal fabrication god :notworthy:
