Gear Shift Lever removal
Hi all trying to replace the lever as above on a K3 pointy, basically got the plate off with the two hex screws, then used another hex screw to get lever assembly thingy off the plate, so I ve got the peg to remove from the arm, but I can't seem to budge it, tried hammering, spraying WD40 etc but only moved slightly, I think there's a lip / grove I need to get over, am I right?
Is there any other way or am I making things worse? p.s. can't upload picture as yet, (file size problem) http://i442.photobucket.com/albums/q...x/IMGP0359.jpg |
Re: Gear Shift Lever removal
Hi gerbrox, I'm no mechanic but when I had to replace the gear lever on my K6 pointy it was just a case of removing a small circlip and sliding the lever off. Didn't have to remove any hex screws or anything??
hope that makes sense neil |
Re: Gear Shift Lever removal
Thanks Eval, alas after a bit of preseverence I managed to get the bloody thing off, there was a sleeve / gasket inside that must have been getting caught, now in getting the bit off managed to kancker a couple of threads so it was touch and go before mr angry went off on one, all fine now, road tested and everything.
p.s. I think you were refering to the peg not the lever maybe the picture isn't so good after all. |
