Speed restriction on A580
Just to let you all know, the A580, East Lancs Rd is having it's speed limit changed from the Queens Island (Junc A580/Chaddock Lane) into Manchester. Currently it's a 60mph from there until the M60 overpass.
As of the 19th June, it's going to be a 50mph all the way. It's been done properly, via a lawfull traffic order through Salford Council. I assume the "Safety Camera Partnership" will be out in force. So, take care, stay slow and keep you eyes open for the vans. Pete |

*sigh*
Cheers for the heads up though Pete! - 'tis a bit of road I use a fair bit. Just out of nosey-ness, I don't suppose you know what the grounds were for the argument to lower it to you? |
Re: Speed restriction on A580
Ta for the heads-up Pete, I normally leave/join the east lancs at the M61 but will keep an eye out all the same.
I'm always a good boy though anyway, honest guvnor! |

I assume it's the high number of KSI's we have on that road. It is fast, and there are not many places to cross on foot. Also, the road was designed and built quite a while ago, and some sections would just not be done like that if it was a new one. For example, the Old Clough Lane crossing. Pete |
