Tank Spacers?

I was looking on e-bay and found a guy selling tank risers to make for more flow to the air box on a naked sv. and i would like to know if that would increase any thing at all.. they are inch spacers that go under the front two bolts on the tank... earlier today i made my own with two nine sixthteens inch nuts... i didn't notice any thing for loss or gain .... your words are apperacted

Does your bike need more air? How's it running, what other mods have you got?
I'm not an expert but I'm guessing you'vee have to have the answer to those questions before working out if it's a good idea or not. No point giving it more air if it's jetted the same with a standard exhaust.

I run 20mm tank risers but I'm also running BMC race RS filter, micron exhaust, 8" stubby end can, 165 mikuni jets, etc etc etc etc.....

If you raise the tank without jetting up you may end up running lean. The result could be less power and more heat, maybe to the point of some intrenal engine damage. Always jet rich to be safe, twins like it rich too.
If you havn't got any other mods I wouldn't bother.

Indeed. Pointless on a standard bike because the filter is the point of most resistance.

When people refer to the 'snorkel' on the filter do they mean the lip around the top hole of the filter out of the top of the airbox?

Errr, OK have fun.

There is no gain to be had from rejetting when you haven't changed the engines airflow. With a stock filter and a slip on pipe the stock jetting is OK.

You want every edge? You racing it?

You would be better spending your money on good quality suspension. There is far more improvement to be had in the handling department than you will ever get from the engine on an SV.

bikes in UK jetted good from factory?
the ones in USA run like crap with stock jetting :)
