What is this tank prop for?
 
hi everyone . picked up my very first sv
fitted an alarm for it and came across this?
what is it?

hiya mate,

yeah it's the "tank prop", if you're doing any work on the airbox (or which involves lifting the tank (but not completely removing it), you put the circular end over the headstock nut (the big nut right in the middle of your handlebars/headstock), then the pointy end goes through either of the bolt holes at the front of the tank. Just makes life easier for checking/changing air filters, working on the throttle bodies (or carbs if you've a rubbish bike) etc...

Any idea why mine didn't come with one? Where are they supposed to be stored?
