Radiator filler cap

wierd question.

Got an sv thou fully faired. I found the filler cap to top up the water in the bike under the petrol tank. All well and good.

Question though. Just underneath the top fairing on the right hand side is another cap that leads directly to the radiator. Its a pressured cap and i would have thought this is where you fill up the radiator with coolant. If not, what is it for?

Anyone?

That is where i have always filled up, bit more accessible than under the petrol tank, although perhaps not with the full fairing

yer its a pain in the ass with the fairing so lifting the tank is simpler. I was just a bit confused as to why there seemed to be 2 places to fill it up ya know.

The tank under the ..em tank..... is the expansion tank. I think it's just to allow the coolant to....em...expand
You should fill up the radiator first then fill up the expansion tank to the right level

After the system has been running for the first time it might need topped up a little.
The expansion tank is also handy if your radiator springs a leak, as I found out. Gives you a little more time between stops ;)
