I acted for a perfectly ordinary client a few months ago on a conveyancing transaction. All went ahead, smoothly and in apple pie order.

But there was one problem. The client's husband. Middle aged man, aggressive and not at all pleasant.

As soon as the matter completed, he strted writing what I can only describe, on a U-rated forum, as inappropriate letters to one of my team. We ignored the first. When the second came, I wrote to ask him to stop. He did - for a while - and then started again. I didn't know that he was calling as well. More letters, I wrote a 'back off or you'll regret it letter'. And yesterday, another, basically inviting my co-worker to share his knickers. He writes that he will be waiting for her after work. It's really sick and disgusting.

So I've just got back from Court - I obtained an 'ex parte' (ie, without giving notice of the application to the jerk) injunction to stop the harassment. And there is a power of arrest if he breaks it.

What is it about middle aged men who won't take 'no' for an answer. I'll have the last laugh. It'll cost him around £2,000 in costs and I've applied for damages, which will be assessed at the next hearing. I'm going to serve the papers on him tonight, I am itching to see his face.

so he's harassing her? that indicates a really bad personality

but he's harassing someone who he knows is in the employ of a law firm? add to that, blatant stupidity!
