GSXR1000 rear shock

fitted a K4 GSXR1000 rear shock yesterday.
Took it for its first short run tonight.
Seems an improvement!
Still need to fine tune the settings a bit more.
Got the static sag and rider sag set OK

Re: GSXR1000 rear shock

Does it alter the ride height? Is it a stiffer spring rate ? Specifically, what kind of improvement have you noticed ? Is it a straight swap with no mods ?

Thanks Ratty

i dont think ride height has altered.
I was hoping it would and as the gsxr shock is a bit longer (according to the data) i thought it would.
Like a tit i didnt measure the height prior to fitting the shock.
As i say, i have only done a short ride since fitting, but the ability to soak up potholes seems improved.
The new spring is rated at 8.6Kg/mm against the stock SV1K of 8Kg/mm.
I do mainly ride 2 up so this was something i wanted.
No mods required as i had already cut away the toolbox under the battery box.
