How long will an SV last as a motorway commuter?

possibly got a new job opportunity but is about 45 miles away, 40 of it being motorway

now i would most likely use a bike rather than the cage. i usually sit at 90 on my private airstrip so if i was to do 80 miles a day sitting at 90 (which is about 7k - 7.5k RPM) how long would it be before the motor would start showing signs of being clapped?

would i better of getting a IL4 or would the sv be able to take it?

get a BMW. Nah the SV will be fine providing she is well serviced.

cheeper to get a IL4 for the constant distance, zx6r G/J are known to return 200miles per tank

SV is fine as a motorway bike as long as you change the oil & filter regularly and check the oil level often.

I been doing that for 4 years on one bike. I have had a new ignition barrel, a new oil feeder hose and numerous Tyres. Serviced (oil and filter changes) every 4500 miles. Everything else is fine.

You want work, you may have to travel.

I was doing a round trip of 120 a day on mine and she seemed to handle it well.
Tyres will get knackered really quickly though so dont choose anything too sticky.
I was doing Northampton to Redditch with a fuel stop in 35 mins on average but just remember that concentration levels on a bike are higher than in a car.
I alternate between bike and car now as I found that sitting in the car with a coffee sometimes beats using the bike in the pouring rain ;) and I was getting tired using the bike all the time

Just done 300 miles on the motorway. The wheels didn't fall off!
