First SV - Losing Power and Stalling

Hi guys,

Got my first bike since passing otherday a nice SV 650s in great condition, well apart from this..

Bike had been stood long time before I bought it, ran fine for two days but now when its started and been warmed up, I can put the rev's on to say 3000rpm, and not move my hand but the revs slowly drop off back to idle, and if I try to put any more rev's on it stalls? Someone has told me it might be a leaky diaphragm but I had no idea what this means?

Thanks

Hi Kiyo, welcome to the forum.

Could you provide some more details, which model, have you done anything to it, how long was it stored for etc. Was the bike prepared for storage or just stored.

Sorry took so long to reply, sorted it now and have been happily tootling round on it, well when the weather permits!! My mate on the corner had a look and it was misfiring cause the plugs were knackered! After changing them and flushing the oil etc, runs like a dream! Loving it!:D:D:D:D

congrats! enjoy the sv they're a great bike. When I buy a new bike i always change the oil/filter and the plugs. At least that way you know when they were actually replaced and its not the seller talkin ****e!
