An inconsiderate fool has only gone and hit my car wing-mirror and cracked it :smt093 Luckily the mirror itself is fine but its also got really deep scrape marks which wont get removed with T-Cut. The plastic bit underneath is about to fall off and I think some of the black plastic inside has bent up because I cant adjust the mirror.

Looks like i'll have to fork out yet more money to get it fixed.

Why aren't people more careful? :smt093

Anyone know of any decent bodywork shops I could take it to?

Because a lot of people have no respect for other peoples property these days.

New mirror (or second hand) would probably be cheaper than a body shop repair.

Agreed, a used mirror housing from a breakers of fleabay would be the way to go. I used to get this all the time and BMW mirros aint cheap so i used to fold my mirrors in all the time after that.
Still better for them to hit the mirror, realise and swerve aaway again that to scrape down the length of the car.

Sorry to hear this Maria, i was swinging on the ohter side of town when this happened otherwise i would have strung em up from the nearest lampost for ya ;)

happened to me a couple of times too, each time i went to my local breakers yard and found one with very little searching and they cost me hardly anything.

As said by all, look for one form breakers yard, or ebay. A new one will be (if its manual adjust) anywehre near £100, then about £60 to have it sprayed! I have been quoted £130 painted for vernas and thats just the mirror casing from VW. A whole mirror unit is £240 from VW (Its an electric mirror)

Theya re easy enough to fit, also if it is a VW, then most of their mirrors are in parts.

Its an electric mirror...I cant afford £240. I'll try ebay first and see if that gets me anywhere. But it looks like I'll need the whole unit replaced since the bottom half is completly cracked and the upper side bit has deep scrape marks.

Boo!

Try the breakers first maria, you may well find better prices from them.

sorry to hear this, what type of car is it?

try metro breakers in colindale, go there flutter your eyelids (or get a* to) see what price they give you, you *may* get a colour matched one which will just bolt on.
