choke plungers - should that happen?
the rear plunger assembly is corroded so much the cable couldn't pull it out, the cable was rusted and so brittle that is snapped trying to pull out the plunger
the plunger itself is ok but the spring is rusted to hell :???: didn't think anything in there should rust  |
Re: choke plungers - should that happen?
When I took my carbs apart because the choke was stuck open, the springs were rusty, and the plugers were stuck in the carbs to...
The cable was really rusty as well. If you pack the splitter in the choke cable with grease apparently it stops this happening as it stops the water running down the choke cable. I dont know if it actually solves it as I sold my SV soon after fitting the new choke cable. |
Re: choke plungers - should that happen?
the spring in the in the front pot was fine and so was the plunger, in fact the spring shot off across the garage and is now lost , but the rear pot is in a hell of a state and the spring is so rusty its stuck in the plunger housing
