Illegal Indicators

Evening All.

I've recently ditched the un-obvious and inconspicous flush mounted and brake light integrated LED indicators on my pointy S in favour of some more traditional (and presumably more legal) 'sticky-outy' fillament bulb style ones.

The new ones however where cheap (£20 for 4) and while they are plenty bright and no different cosmetically to more expensive ones, they're not E-marked.

Was just wondering what this would mean in terms of insurance/MOT/police?

Thanks,

Re: Illegal Indicators

They day that the boys n girls in Dayglo start taking notice if indicators are emarked is the day i stop riding and playing my police part in my Council tax! AS long as they are orange and they flash at the correct rate then there shouldnt be a problem.

Thanks,

Nothing legal, but if YOU are in doubt of their visibility, then its YOU that owes it to yourself to get them fixed.

My SV had aftermarket indies - but the £15 each ones and are plenty bright.

End of the day, your call.

You could try parking the bike up on the pavement next to a t-junction (quiet road would be best) during daylight hours, put on the hazard lights then walk away from it to a rerasonable distance and check visibility for yourself.
