DIY chain and sprocket replacement
Need to change my chain and sprockets (old one extremely worn). Is this a job I can do myself? Just called my local bike shop and they want £105 for a DID kit and £40 to fit. If I get a DID kit from ebay is it easy to replace and can I get away with using a chain tool from ebay like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOTORCYCLE-UNI...d=p3286.c0.m14 or is something more professional required...
Thanks Ste |
Re: DIY chain and sprocket replacement
Good afternoon.
That tool looks to be for pressing on the sideplate only, for pressing & rivetting you will need one like this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Motorcycle-Cha...d=p3286.c0.m14 It appears to be a copy of the genuine DID tool, although somewhat cheaper. I have seen these in the past, & they look ok for home use. Cheers. |
