Hi (from a lurker!)

Yes, been lurking here for a long time, a good couple of years I reckon.

Anyway, finally registered today so 'hi' to all and thanks for a very informative site; you seem a decent bunch too!

My story; 38 y.o. male, Married with 1 teenaged daughter, I am a Train Driver and live in Bedford.

Finally got a bike (CG125) in April 2008, did my CBT and had a few months popping round before doing DAS in September 2008 (to beat what was then the deadline for the 'old' test). Always like the noise of V-Twins and the style of the curvey SVs so I found a 2002 Candy Blue via e-Bay back in April this year.

Around 5000 miles by 1 owner and in pretty good condition other than a bit of front-fork corrosion and a scrape on the tank (by a bicycle falling on it). A nice Blue Flame exhaust to let the vibes out, it certainly seems all it should be, the only problem being me and my dodgy back! Should have bought a naked really for that but it wouldn't have looked the same.

I have been reading through a thread about changing the bars and raising the positioning so I might have to look at going down that route as I want to keep this bike until it's a classic, I just love the faired curveys. For that reason I don't want to pile lots of miles onto it but I do want to be comfy!

Finally, I've just sold my Westfield and bought a 2007 Kawasaki Versys to do some touring and long-distance stuff. Hoping to visit Norway next year then a mammoth trip round Europe with an old school-pal in 2011 (when we are both 40), a re-run of a trip we did by car when we were 21.

So, that's me and my bike obsession, now resigned to keeping my old Skoda Fabia for a few more years..........

Welcome to the family Mcfly. I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm out and about as I'm only a few miles away from you near to Sandy. :)
