fork crash bungs?

hi just thinking whether is it worth buying set crash bungs for front forks, will it prevent the forks from gettin bent?

For an SV? Not easily done as mostly the mount goes right through the spindle, but the SV's spindle isn't hollow.

Will reduce chances of the ends of the fork getting scratched in a spill*, won't make stop the forks getting bent.

*Note: Reduce, not eliminate, drop it hard enough the bungs will snap off.

I've slid my bike down the road a few times and the forks barely touch to cause any damage, the discs and calipers are high enough to be off the road surface during a slide too so not much point using them really. As Sid says they wont provide protection against bending.

I've had my GSXR forks (and spindle) touch down in crashes, which is quite annoying as they're pretty and expensive. But then, the crash bung things make them look rubbish today, rather than a crash possibly making them look rubbish in the future. So, it's a bit of a lose lose really.
