Halfwits do a range of H4 bulbs you should be able to get something "better". I've got Osram Nightbreakers fitted in my SV at the moment

Yup as the Dwag says, plenty out ther for 'upgrade purposes'

Philips X-Treme
Osram Nightbreakers or silver stars
Halfords stuff
PIAA stuff
or HID kits.

That sums up the best of the best really. If you still have the original bulbs then they are 45/45w so any bulb will be better than that, and you need H4 fittment if you have a UK dual bulbed bike. Stay away form the cheap stuff on ebay (unless its branded like above)

You can get a twin H$ HID kit, uk based (guy is in london) with a two year warranty for £35

He's an ebay power seller - no wiring its all plug and play

60/55W is fine, it's what everyone uses when upgrading and is the standard H4 automotive lamp rating.

Another vote for Philips Xtreme Power here, but I believe there's nothing to choose between them and Osram Nightbreakers. Avoid cheapo eblay type lamps, they're usually inferior products, short life and often inaccurate manufacture so poor light performance, false economy, get the proper branded versions.

Halfords Extreme brilliance bulbs are much better than the standard ones (I got them cos i work there and can get them cheap), not sure what they're like compared to the Phillips or Osrams but they do the job much better than standards.
