Not for rental DVDs

Why does just about every DVD I hire from my video shop say 'Not for rental'?

Surely one of life's great mysteries.

You still rent from a shop? How quaint!

Can't be arsed to spend ages on the computer or downloading and out here only get Sky. So when I fancy something specific on the spur of the moment, yes, the video shop is easiest.

I think the children are referring to The Pirate Bay

Re: Not for rental DVDs

Anyway , before this descended into Gibberish , to answer your original post .......... when you are a hire shop and put films out to Rent , you are supposed to go through the "proper" channels and buy a Rental version of the film . These are about £150 to buy so that the company that distributes the film gets their fair share from multiple rentals . Of course , some shops skirt around this issue buy buying them for a Tenner from Asda and renting them out .
