Damnit, the forces of darkness tried to get one up on me this morning by setting up a speed trap at a new location on the A3 Northbound, just after the Tibbets Corner underpass :???:

Best case scenario is that the somewhat tubby Firestorm rider who was ahead of me hid me sufficiently til I’d scrubbed off the necessary speed, and/or diverted the attention of the single speed gun...
...but I can’t be sure so it’s gonna be one of those 14 day waits! [-o<

What’s playing on my mind a bit is that shortly after, I got ahead of the Firestorm thanks to a better planned filtering strategy. However during execution of aforementioned strategy, while negotiating traffic from a busy junction/petrol station and a pedestrian crossing, I spotted movement out of the corner of my fishy eye that my fizzy senses identified as a bike cop (black leathers & flip up white lid). :plod:

Now I’m trying not to think about worst case scenario, which is that the movement might have been the nice officer walking towards the road to get me to stop. But hey I’m kinda thinking that it might have been aimed at the Firestorm behind me instead, especially as I seemed to have lost him by Wandsworth. And in any case, I didn’t hear any sirens and they haven’t arrived at TfL Towers yet to drag me away from my desk... so I’m kinda hoping I’m OK on that front! :-k

So what have I learned from all this?

1. There’s a new speed trap place on the A3 Northbound, just after Tibbets Corner
2.If you see coppers there you should turn off just before the petrol station

BTW there were 2 coppers in his vis, standing a bit further on from the fixed Gatso just after the Tibbets Corner underpass.

I hope this turns out to be a dramatic escape rather than a minor defeat at the hands of the powers that be. But I shall be thinking positive things. I'd doubt you're in trouble from your description, but I'll be hoping that any incriminating paperwork is lost in a series of small office fires...
