RAC breakdown Cover.
Hi Guys,
Am wanting to purchase some breakdown cover. am enjoying my riding hence going on long trips. then it dawned on me (while eating a bacon butty) what happens if i get a puncture... So i've been looking on the RAC website. has anybody got cover from them? Do i need to tell them the cover is for a motorbike? |

Re: RAC breakdown Cover.
I elected to go with the AA for £7 per month. It covers me for any vehicle I`m driving or riding or also travelling in as a passenger. YOu will need to tell them that you have both a bike and a car.
My only problem so far has been that I took extra cover of £7 per month for parts... It covers me for parts up to the value of £500. I assumed this would be on either vehicle but no, it`s only for either my car or my bike and you have to let them know which vehicle you want the parts cover for. |

Re: RAC breakdown Cover.
I've got full European breakdown cover with Carole Nash for the bike, and Green Flag for the car.
I used to have RAC for my car - had to use them once, and they totally wrecked an 18 month old car by mis-diagnosing a faulty wheel sensor as a fuel problem, and then not re-connecting an HDI fuel line correctly. Result was:- Broke down the following day in a big cloud of smoke and had to wait 3 hours for them to come out again. Diesel had spewed all over engine bay, resulting in contamination to the clutch, turbo and brakes. Car was fixed by a good friend of mine who owns a Peugeot dealership however was not covered under warranty - was without a car for a week, and had to send numerous stroppy letters to RAC - eventually got around £900 as an ex-gratia payment :smt021 |
Re: RAC breakdown Cover.
Just so you are aware:
With the AA unless you take out their tip top most expensive cover then you will not be recovered if you have had an accident. With the RAC as long as you don't have their biggidy bog standard cover you will be recovered if you have an accident. |
