DOH !!

you could do what I did, take hack-saw, chop out 2 inches, take welder, weld back up. You'll need an AC welder though cos it's alloy and it reacts with the air super quick so you just end up welding the oxidating surface, which isn't cool.

For most people it's easier to just cut & drill new ones from mild steel. And are you certain you mean 2 inches? That's a huge ammount, most of the after market ones are only a feww mm longer or shorter than standard to get a noticeable difference.

i think it was 45mm. It was a few years ago though. It steers on the dangerous side of quick that's for sure.
I needed more ground clearance as I race mini-twins and it decks out too easily. I also run my forks pretty much as far down as possible for more ground clearance. No need to drop them through the yokes for extra turn in speed as the back is so high.
Some mild steel bar from b and q would work spot on, cheap too you could do a few and find which height works best for your riding.

The back end is this high now, see pic

That'd be 45mm at the axle, no? The difference in the dog bones would be a lot less.
