SK2 & 3 differences

OK may be a dumb question to you hardened SV enthusiasts but are there any major differences between the SK2 and SK3 that I should be aware of?

Looks to be a difference with the front end(visually) but may just be the pics im lookin at? :s

Any help (pics especially) pointing out differences appreciated.

Ta!

Main difference (apart from shape) is that the sk2 (curvy) is carbed where as the sk3 (pointy) is fuel injected.

And curvys are pig ugly too ;)

Look at the two bikes in the banner at the top of the page, one on left is k2 or earlier (curvy) one on right is k3 on (pointy).
As for difference, there are loads, different frame , later bikes are fuel injected , so on and so forth.

Re: SK2 & 3 differences

think ive confused myself there!
I take it
sk3 = 2003 (ish)
sk4 = 2004 (ish) models.

Bike advertised locally as an SK2 which im pretty sure is totally worng as its a 2004 (54 plate) pointy style.

After the rounded one finished apart from the black frame in 2005 is there any major change as the years pass? i.e. better to get an sk5 than 4 etc.?

54 plate will be the newer shape not an sk2.

k1 2001
k2 2002
k3 2003
etc .....

The newest ones have twin spark plugs. I think they started on K8 models

ok cheers for the help guys. just scraping the pennies from under the bed and the back of the sofa..
Try to go and see Tuesday maybe, anything I should look out for? No prior knowledge of SVs or Suzukis at all really.. Im the kind of person who will buy it on wim to be told the day later "oo you didnt wanna buy and sk4 the wheels commonly fall off as soon as the fuel tank sets alight"..

Re: SK2 & 3 differences

Of the later pointy fuel injected bikes the only real differences are the k3 model compaired to any later models, although k7 onwards had twin spark plug cylinder heads. The k3 has a different rear subframe, slightly higher front footpegs, a different seat, different side panels, no tool kit box, slightly longer mirror arms, slightly different angle exhaust pipe, slightly different rear number plate hanger, and it has been mentioned that the crankshafts are possibly weaker than on later models.
