New Rumour JT Stays!!!

The rumour is that Toseland will stay with Tech 3 next year because he is British and 'good for sponsors' if Ben Spies comes to Tech 3.

That means Colin Edwards will get the boot...for being American as Tech 3 doesn't want two yankee doodles...

Re: New Rumour JT Stays!!!

Much as it pains me to bet against a UK rider I must say that Colin has over performed this year and JT under. Given the choice between the 2 I'd go for CE. However it must be remembered that he has been allowed the luxury of more time in MGP than JT and with the factory team.

I think it's very interesting when riders are moved out of their 'comfort zone' and suddenly their performance improves. Don't know if anyone watches F1 but for the second time this season the grid has been turned on its head. Amazing how when jobs are threatened (and a Ferrari drive is in the offing) we see this. I guess it mus be a great life just being there that having to compete is just too much like hard work but when the **** hits the fan the guys will perform out of there skin. I'd sack 'em straight away and send them back to WSB or worse still BSB (or in the case of F1 drivers back to BTC).

Colin has out qualified and out performed JT in races all season. I'm a massive CE fan, since meeting him in '99 at a Honda do, and i think he has done enough this year to keep his seat, if he wants to ;)

From what I've read DORNA are going to be pulling some strings, and they'd like JT to stay so that there's a Brit on the grid.

I personally couldn't care less if he's there or not. He's NEVER going to get a factory ride, too many better riders out there, he'll be outperformed by Spies if Spies replaces Edwards, perhaps to an even greater extent. He'll only win a race in some crazy circumstances and I don't ever root for him.

I think it would stink if Edwards gets the bullet just because of some BS marketing crap that DORNA want to pull by keeping Toseland there.

its all about the money and the sponsors and not about the racing at the end of the day, this is why i stopped watching F1, Colin Edwards deserves his moto ride with continuous top 6-8 finishes, it would stink if he gets the boot.

It is great to have a Brit in the premier class, but I wouldn't say JT was good for sponsors especially as he hasn't brought any to the team. What JT has behind him is Dorna wanting a Brit rider, and why...

...because it brings in the TV ratings for the UK!

Personally, while JT seems like a pleasant enough bloke I don't think he's right for MotoGP. Fantastic superbike rider - 2 championships speak for themselves - but the 800cc bikes are completely different and I'm not sure he suits them.

It's not the first time we've seen this, though, is it - didn't Foggy try the 500s back in the day?

CE is (for me) both a better rider and a better interviewee - he's much more entertaining.

Let's have good racing - Spies to Tech3 against CE, JT back to WSB where I wouldn't bet against him picking up another title.

As much as I'm a Toseland fan, I don't really think he has that certain something that the Gp riders need to get to the top. It's a shame because he has worked his way up from CB500s thru the top classes to be the best........ Except MotoGp.
It's great if he is signed up for 2010, but I think that there are far more talented riders that deserve the chance.
