Fitting a 33bhp ECU.

Hello Guys and girls,

I've recently upgraded from my '99 SV400 to an SV650 K3. Its got an alarm and immobiliser and I was wondering how I go about fitting the restricted CDI. Am I right in guessing that I could have problems with the alarm system if I just unplug the exsisting CDI, obviously I should disconnect the battery first.

Any advice or/and help welcome

Thanks

Rob

Re: Fitting a 33bhp CDI Unit.

Very simple :)

- Remove the seat (need to remove the two plastic side bits to get to the seat bolts)
- Lift out plastic bit just behind the battery.
- Pull out what looks like a games console cartridge.
- Put new one in, and do the reverse of the above.

I didn't disconnect the battery when I swapped them over, and assuming the alarm isn't wired up to te ECU (which I'd be surprised if it was) then you should be fine.
Although I would make sure the alarm is turned off first :p
