Stargate Universe Summary

Airs on Friday at 9PM on | Status: Premiering October 2, 2009
The Previously unknown purpose of the "Ninth Cheveron" is revealed, and ends up taking a team to an Ancient ship "Destiny", a ship built millions of years ago by the Ancients, used to seed Distant galaxies with Stargates. This team, led by Dr. David Rush and Colonel Everett Young, are trapped on the ship, unable to change its programmed mission, and encounter new races, new technology and new enemies, as the runaway ship takes them to the far ends of the Universe.

is this a new series dave? or a single show?
I'm assuming its completely independant from, sg1 and atlantis series?
which channel??

The second live-action series to spin-off of the hit science fiction series Stargate SG-1 was green-lighted a day after the announcement that Stargate Atlantis will be canceled after it's fifth season run. Stargate Universe will premiere with a two- hour movie in 2009 and land in a regular time slot this fall.

After unlocking the mystery of the Stargate's ninth chevron, a team of explorers travels to an unmanned starship called the Destiny, launched by he Ancients at the height of their civilisation as a grand experiment set in motion, but never completed.

What starts as a simple reconnaissance turns into a never ending mission, as the Stargate Universe crew discovers the ship is unable to return to Earth, and they must now fend for themselves aboard the Destiny.

The crew will travel to the far reaches of the universe, connecting with each of the previously launched Stargates, thus fulfilling the Destiny's original mission. Challenges will arise though as the ship comes into range of Stargates placed centuries ahead of the Destiny and the crew is unable to control the ship's navigational schedule. If someone is left behind, there is no way to go back for them, adding to the drama of encountering new races, enemies and adventures.

Seriously, new Stargate

AWESOME :D

I always liked SG1, missis thought I was a geek.
I got into Atlantis, missis thought I was more of a geek.
Said missis then started watching SGA, started to enjoy it, then watched the whole lot, now wants the DVD's....
Said missis is also now getting into SG1, and as Sky1 has started playing from episode 1 now, shes recording the lot and watching them.

Now we're going on holiday, shes recording every single SG on TV to watch when she comes home so not to miss any of the early episodes.

I just enjoyed watching them.

I am no longer the geek of the house.

Proper liking this though, so many doors they can open, so many stories they can still do. Good franchise that must be good enough. Been doing SG now for what, 15 years!!!!!

Stargate 'Voyager', anyone? :) Still would like to see it though!
